
Does your child wake up every day and insist that they don’t want to go to school? Are you sick of arguing, cajoling, bribing and trying to convince them to just stop asking to stay home every day and have a good time at school?!? This week I’m coming at ya with 3 mindful tips to shift your morning dynamic!
After talking to my husband about how hard the complaining and tears were for me (and even considering homeschooling, which is so not an option for me) we decided to make some shifts in our own response to see if we could change the way that morning felt for everyone. And… it worked!!
Did we stop the big feelings from arising? Nope, but we did reframe the beliefs and subconscious habits that were leading to rough mornings, arguments (and my own judgement) so that we can move on and have sweet mornings, even when the big feelings are are there.
Now, we do three helpful things to feel more connected and have more fun before school:
